Photo: Southeast teens thank Palin for 'thinking green'

Local teens with the Alaska Youth for Environmental Action (AYEA) met with Gov. Palin to thank her for allocating $250 million toward renewable energy. The presentation was part of the 2008 Civics and Conservation Summit sponsored by the AYEA program of National Wildlife Federation. The teens presented Palin with postcards, a certificate for allocating the funds and a 'Chico' re-usable bag to promote legislation reducing plastic pollution. Twenty youth from 15 communities in Alaska participated in the Summit. They hailed from Port Alexander, Ketchikan, Petersburg, Sitka, Anchorage, Homer, Fairbanks, Arctic Village, Chefornak, Wasilla, Palmer, Seward, Kasilof, and Kotlik.
